Mike Kelley: Petting Zoo

Skulptur Projekte Münster 07

Escher GuneWardena worked with conceptual artist, Mike Kelley, in the planning and architectural design of his installation at an abandoned public urban space in the heart of the historic town of Münster for the international exhibition which recurs every decade. Kelley's piece, which revolves around the biblical story of Lot, and notions of domesticated animals, consisted of a chicken coop, a goat tower and a round barn dominated by a salt-lick in the form of Lot’s wife which stood in the center. Skulptur Projekte Münster 07 was curated by Kaspar König, Brigitta Franzen and Carina Plath for the Westfalian Museum of Art and Cultural History, Münster, Germany.
